Technical Description EUROWEB+ project is a scholarship

Technical Description:

The center of this organization is in France. This project aims to

Technical Description: The project objectives were to develop computational infrastructure for parallel processing and relevant applications in SouthEastern European countries. UPT participated in collaboration with the University of Tirana (UT). In the framework of the project there were identified two applications from the field of physics (Latices calculations for the properties of elementary particles by Faculty of Natural Sciences, and modeling of physical fields in the geological structures by the Faculty of Information Technology), that require the use of parallel processing resources occurring in the Balkan region. It is also worked to promote similar applications from the fields of chemistry and biology. Parallel calculation for these applications were carried out in the parallel system of the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies IICTP-BAS of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Sofia, and in parallel system of the Institute for the Development of National Information Infrastructure NIIF in Pecs, Hungary.

Description: The project was developed for the region of SouthEastern Europe with the aim of studying the policies, strategies of e-infrastructure development and regional cooperation in South East Europe, promoting this cooperation, drafting recommendations for harmonizing in regional scale, aiming the integration in the area ERA European Research. In this project UPT collaborated with the Ministry of Education and Science. In the framework of the project was the collection and processing of information on einfrastructure, as a contribution to redact of project technical documentation.

Technical Description:
Funded by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission,
ICT-WEB-PROMS project objectives were to encourage and support the
involvement of researchers from the Western Balkan countries in FP7
projects. For the realization of its goal, besides training seminars, the
work has been organized for keeping the researchers informed in the
country for new developments in FP7 and presentations of research
community in international activities.

Technical Description:
The project objectives were application of satellite imaging technologies in integrated assessment and prediction of geodynamic phenomena in order to mitigate the consequences, in urban and coastal tourist region. The project was initiated by the Geological Survey of Albania and the Academy of Sciences of Albania (including the team of Centre for R&D of FTI). During the project the use of satellite images was experimented, in particular the radar SAR images and Landsat images, for the study of landslides in the area of Durres - Kavaja and the dynamics of the coastline in the area of Seman and Patoku.
